Hello, my name is Jodie.  I have been teaching yoga since 2012.  Recently, I completed a Yoga Alliance certification in prenatal yoga.  I was lucky enough to take the training while being pregnant with my second son, so I got to experience the training as a pregnant yogi.  This course also prepared me to teach “Post natal yoga” and “Baby and Me” yoga classes, which is for new mommy’s to bring and interact with their 6 weeks to about 6 month old babies.

My previous work experience and education has involved business studies, management of spa/retail stores, massage practitioner, Reiki practitioner, the study of chakra balancing, and crystal/gemstone healing.  I have become involved with communities to help create knowledge and good practice in the fields of holistic health and living a sustainable life.  I hope to be able to share the knowledge that I have learned with your studio, community center, or organization.

A little yoga history about me:

I began practicing yoga in 2006, at “SchoolHouse Yoga,” in Pittsburgh Pa.  After my first yoga class, (which I struggled through), I walked outside I realized that I felt amazing! It might seem extreme, but I felt euphoric!!!  I instantly said to myself, “I want to share this with people, I want to help people feel this good.”  And so, a seed grew in my mind.  As the years past I practiced every type of yoga that I came across and everywhere that I went in the world.  Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Kundalini, Dharma, Hot Yoga, Power Yoga, Bikram, and Restorative.  I can honestly say that I learned and remember something about each teacher I practiced with.  I am ready to share what I have learned.

Continuing Education:

I am currently continuing my yoga education by studying Leslie Kaminoff’s, “Yoga Anatomy,”  “The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali,” practicing creating yoga sequences and working on my verbal dialogue.

Thank you for your time.
